Frank Matus has close to 20 years of experience establishing strategy/development initiatives for emerging air traffic management concepts and solutions in the U.S. and global aviation market.
Currently, Matus is the Digital Aviation Segment Lead responsible for UAS Traffic Management (UTM) solution development for customers in North America, Australia and the United Kingdom as well as leading an effort investigating UTM – ATM integration activities globally. Matus leads collaboration efforts with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC). The platform is used by the FAA’s New York Test Site, with the Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR). Matus is a member of the Transport Canada / NAV CANADA Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Traffic Management (RTM) Working Group to define policy and performance requirements for UAS/RPAS integration in Canada. Matus is also responsible for strategy and business development efforts for air traffic flow management (ATFM) and for air traffic control automation in North America.
