Ian Randall is an accomplished engineer, entrepreneur and the Co-Founder, President & CEO of MagLev Aero Inc., a pioneering aerospace technology company headquartered in Boston. The entity is focused on a novel electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) air vehicle platform that defies convention in the global aerospace industry, solving critical engineering and deployment challenges for urban air mobility. Together with Co-Founder Rod Randall, a decorated tech entrepreneur and venture capitalist, he has assembled a talented team of engineers and scientists who have secured more than 21 patents, positioning MagLev Aero to become a global leader in electric propulsion and aircraft technology.
Randall graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering and a Minor in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration in System Design and Dynamics & Controls. Randall’s technical expertise and vision have lead MagLev Aero’s radical approach to urban mobility, designing concepts that will help make air transportation more sustainable and efficient.
In recognition of his innovative work, Randall was recently welcomed into the Edison Awards’ Lewis Latimer Fellowship program, a bespoke innovation-forward “curiosity sandbox” designed to inspire, connect, accelerate and enable Black thought leaders with world-shifting ideas.
